SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - 21 Apr 2010 - Ushering in a new era in mobile health engagement, Allviant       Corporation announced today that its CarePass™      solution generated impressive results in engaging Arizona State     University (ASU)  employees in actively participating in various health     and wellness initiatives. In less than four months of using the     convenient technology, ASU reports a 100 percent increase in attendance     at employee preventive screenings at ASU.

While CarePass helped to double attendance for   general health screenings     for blood glucose, blood pressure,  full lipid panel, body composition,    bone density and hearing   screenings, it boosted attendance for diet and     fitness programs at   ASU by 85 percent – the categories of engagement     most commonly   attributed to changes in lifestyle that drive down the     cost of   care. CarePass has become the preferred means of registering for       wellness classes, with nearly 2/3 of all registrations done via       CarePass. CarePass also allows consumers to control their benefits and       personal health service communications and transactions by       aggregating and delivering information securely—via phone,  e-mail,  or     text messaging based on individual preference.  Patent-pending technology     allows CarePass to uniquely combine relevant pieces of information     together in those communications to consumers who then are able to take     meaningful action.

According to ASU statistics, twenty-five percent more females than males     are using CarePass, reflecting research showing that women make the     majority of healthcare decisions for their families.

According to Kevin Salcido, ASU’s chief human resources officer, “Not     only are we thrilled that our preventive health programs have been so     heavily attended due to CarePass,  but we’re pleased to be able to offer     our employees a benefit that is low cost, but delivers high value.      That’s especially important during these tough economic times when     employees are often asked to sacrifice. Instead, with CarePass, they’ve     been able to gain a great benefit. Giving our employees a tool like     CarePass helps them take positive proactive health action. Plus, it is     easy to use, is customized to their preferences and provides just the     right number of reminders. It has significantly enhanced our ability to     communicate health and wellness information, and as a result, we will     expand use of CarePass to other communication of benefits and human     resources information.”

“In only four months, with little promotion and no incentives, 21% of     ASU Tempe campus employees have signed up to use our technology-enabled     service – a testament to the powerful capabilities we put in the hands     of CarePass users,”  said Lilian Myers, Allviant’s CEO. “As the largest     university in the country,  ASU leads the way in demonstrating how large     employers can empower a workforce to take charge of their own health     management through innovations like CarePass. Their dramatic results     prove that implementing next generation employee engagement tools     doesn’t have to take months or years and that doing it well stimulates     engagement and uptake of employer-sponsored prevention and wellness     programs, while helping employees quickly and easily manage their own     health and benefits world. We couldn’t be more pleased by the confidence     and trust ASU has placed in us to empower their employees with the     information they need, where and when they need it. We look forward to     expanding upon the program’s success.”
