Experts across the retail, restaurant, payments and digital marketing industries will come together at CashStar's 2013 Retailer Roundtable to discuss the near- and long-term impact mobile technology and the convergence of offers, payments, and loyalty will have on their businesses. More than 20 major brands, such as Aeropostale, Crate and Barrel, Dunkin' Donuts, Target, The Cheesecake Factory, The
Home Depot, Panera, QVC, Staples, and Williams-Sonoma, will attend, along with CashStar partners and leaders in the payments, loyalty and digital rewards industries, including, Bridge2 Solutions, First Data Corporation, and RewardsNOW.
In a series of keynotes by recognized thought leaders, as well as "unconference" sessions led by the internationally renowned unconference facilitator Joshua Kauffman, the Retailer Roundtable agenda will explore the many transformations that are shaping the retail and restaurant industries and affecting gift card program owners. Among them are:
-- The transformation of gift cards - both plastic and digital - into mobile, reloadable payment cards that foster increased engagement and spending
-- The transformation of retailer apps into mobile wallets, driven by consumers' desire for convenience and smartphone adoption
-- The transformation of gift cards - as well as coupons, offers, and loyalty points - into different forms of Branded Currency, and the implications of their convergence on consumer purchase behavior
-- New and emerging distribution channels extending reach and creating new opportunities to drive sales, personal engagement, and enduring loyalty
Steve Arthur, head of industry, retail, Google, will kick off the event. Session speakers include:
-- Mark Bonchek, founder & chief catalyst, ORBIT
-- Denee Carrington, senior analyst, Forrester Research, Inc.
-- Alex Rampell, CEO & co-founder, TrialPay
-- Bill Hanifin, publisher, Loyalty Truth
Additionally, the results of CashStar's recent survey of gift card program owners across the industry, focused on how the transformation to digital, the emergence of mobile, and other market forces are shaping their roles, will be shared.
"Mobile adoption has transformed the wallet and gift card ecosystem, and is bringing changes and opportunities for retailers at an unprecedented rate," said Gene Cornfield, vice president of marketing at CashStar. "The Retailer Roundtable will give attendees the opportunity to immerse themselves in future-focused insights, discuss strategies for success, and learn practical next steps for leveraging CashStar and our partners to achieve immediate results."
