Former Acxiom Executive With 17 Years of Industry Experience to   Spearhead StrongMail’s Next Generation, Multi-Channel Agency Services

REDWOOD CITY, CA—(Aug 16, 2011) - StrongMail, a leading provider of online marketing solutions for email marketing and social media,  today announced the appointment of Christopher Marriott as vice president of agency services. A marketing and advertising veteran with 17 years of digital marketing experience, Marriott has exercised his leadership and multi-channel marketing expertise at such notable companies as Acxiom, Digital Impact and Euro RSCG. In his new role,  Marriott will be responsible for managing StrongMail’s New York-based agency services division and applying its full suite of multi-channel strategic, creative and execution services to make customers of StrongMail’s technology solutions even more successful.

StrongMail established its full-service agency services in 2010 with the acquisition of Magnetik, Conversa Marketing and Edible Buzz, which enabled the company to expand upon its email marketing and social media services to include a full suite of interactive marketing services. Today, StrongMail’s agency services team is helping brands like Travelocity, InterContinental Hotels Group and Discover Financial Services develop, deploy and optimize innovative multi-channel campaigns using StrongMail’s suite of interactive solutions. As the new head of StrongMail’s agency services, Marriott will provide the vision and leadership to ensure that StrongMail’s services continue to expand and evolve to keep pace with industry best practices and emerging channels.

An active member of the digital marketing community, Marriott has had a formal role in providing training and advice to members of the Association of National Advertisers since 2001 and sits on the ad:tech Conference Advisory Board. Marriott is also a frequent speaker at digital marketing events and regularly contributes to industry publications.

Most recently, Marriott served as vice president of global agency services at Acxiom, where he was instrumental in expanding the company’s services to new international markets and bolstering their mobile and social media offerings. Previously, Marriott was managing director of the Wilton, Connecticut, office of Euro RSCG Circle, where he first began to successfully experiment with wrapping agency services around marketing technology. Marriott also developed his marketing and advertising expertise in management roles at such notable agencies as THINK New Ideas, Wells Rich Greene and Ogilvy & Mather, where he began his career and graduated from its Account Management Training Program. Marriott graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with a BA degree in Music and History.
