Shell and Dunkin’ are expanding their partnership with the Fuel Rewards program nationally, now allowing Fuel Rewards members with Gold Status and DD Perks Rewards Program members across the country to save 10 cents per gallon every time they buy five beverages at Dunkin’.
The brands say the “Sip Dunkin’, Save at Shell” program is planned to run through the end of the year. Existing members can log into their accounts and then link their DD Perks and Fuel Rewards accounts, while new members can sign up for accounts and then link them.
“Shell is thrilled to expand our partnership with Dunkin’ beyond a successful Northeast pilot to a national offering, allowing more consumers the ability to both enjoy their favorite Dunkin’ beverages and save when filling up their vehicle,” Todd Gulbransen, North America CRM and Loyalty Manager for Shell Oil Products U.S., said in a news release. “This national expansion has been something Shell, Dunkin' and the Fuel Rewards program have been working on collaboratively - the teams are excited to offer consumers across the country the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of both loyalty programs.”
DD Perks members will receive 5 cents off per gallon after every fifth beverage purchase. Fuel Rewards members with active Gold Status get 5 cents off per gallon. The combination of the two gets users to 10 cents off per gallon. Additionally, this savings can be stacked with other Fuel Rewards savings.
“From the coffee in your cup to the gasoline in your car, Dunkin' and Shell and both play a big part in keeping Americans fueled throughout their busy day,” Justin Unger, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Dunkin' Brands, said in the release. “We are excited to continue to build the great partnership between our two brands throughout 2020 with the Sip Dunkin', Save at Shell partnership, and deliver significant new rewards that fit so seamlessly into our on-the-go customers’ daily routines.”
This follows Dunkin’ making multiple partnerships last year. The brand announced a partnership with Beyond Meat to introduce the Beyond Sausage Sandwich. After a successful test in the summer, Dunkin’ expanded the offering to more than 9,000 restaurants in November. Dunkin’ also announced in June that it was partnering with Grubhub, the mobile food-ordering and delivery marketplace, to begin the rollout of its new Dunkin’ Delivers service.
Shell also formed a partnership in 2019, working with Excentus Corp., a PDI company, to launch Fuel Rewards Pro, a loyalty program for fleet drivers who fill up at Shell.
