McDonald’s Shoots for 250 Million Loyalty Members by 2027

McDonald’s has announced the latest growth targets in its Accelerating the Arches development strategy. By the end of 2027, the company aims to have 50,000 locations worldwide and 250 million 90-day active members of its loyalty program. MyMcDonald’s Rewards is already one the world’s largest loyalty programs, with 150 million active members. McDonald’s expects the program to generate $45B in sales by 2027.  

Starting in 2024, the company will implement a new operating system for all customer and restaurant digital platforms, including the loyalty program and related apps. McDonald’s says the bespoke system will make the customer experience more consistent and familiar across the chain. The company will use the platform to send personalized digital offers to loyalty members.  

McDonald's also announced a partnership with Google Cloud to deploy generative AI solutions in its restaurants. The company expects the technology to streamline workflows and improve food quality.  

Since the launch of Accelerating the Arches in 2019, McDonald’s sales have risen by 30%.
