Enhanced Benefits and New Ways to Level Up Coming to Alaska Airlines Loyalty Program in 2025

Alaska Airlines is revamping its Mileage Plan program with updates coming in January 2025 that will make it easier for members to achieve elite status faster and enjoy valuable perks. Members can earn elite-qualifying miles (EQMs) through more versatile activities, including award travel and credit card purchases. As members accumulate EQMs, they will unlock new milestone rewards tailored to their preferences, such as bonus miles, lounge access, or the chance to roll over EQMs to the following year. The program refresh promises more benefits and greater flexibility for travelers.

Alaska Airlines is also enhancing its partnership with Hawaiian Airlines, with plans to merge the loyalty programs into a single platform. Hawaiian Airlines joined Alaska Airlines in September. Members can already transfer miles between Alaska and Hawaiian loyalty programs at a 1:1 ratio with no fees. Additionally, Hawaiian residents will soon be eligible for a new travel program featuring exclusive discounts and perks, creating a more unified and rewarding experience for its frequent flyers and ensuring access to benefits across both airlines.

Alaska Airlines VP of Loyalty, Alliances, and Sales Brett Catlin said, “We’re on a multi-year journey to make the industry’s most generous loyalty program even more rewarding. In 2025, Mileage Plan members will have access to all-new, more frequent perks along with expanded ways to earn elite status, including on award travel. As we invest in a single loyalty platform with Hawaiian Airlines, there is even more to come later in the year.”

In 2025, Alaska Airlines will introduce new ways for members to earn EQMs faster. Members will also be able to redeem award travel with Alaska or its global partners. Cardholders of the Alaska Airlines Visa® card can also earn one EQM for every $3 spent on qualifying purchases, up to 30,000 EQMs annually. Furthermore, members can earn additional EQMs through non-airline partners, such as Lyft, Macy’s, Walmart, Best Buy, and more, making it even easier to achieve elite status.
