Kristen Wiig will reprise her Saturday Night Live character, Target Lady, in the advertising campaign promoting the event.
“We’ve spent a lot of time talking with guests about what they love about Target Circle, and we can’t wait for members to experience even more ease, savings, and personal touches every time they shop,” said Cara Sylvester, Executive Vice President and Chief Guest Experience Officer for Target. “We’re thrilled to launch Target Circle’s next chapter with Kristen Wiig as the Target Lady during Target Circle Week, and since there’s no cost to join, all guests can save even more with their personalized deals.”
Target is also trying to attract new members to its rewards club by offering an exclusive deal for Target Circle members on its gift cards. The retailer is offering 10% off its Target gift cards on the final day of Target Circle Week, April 13, just in time for Mother’s Day and graduation gifts.

Wingstop is Launching a Proprietary MyWingstop Platform
After a successful pilot test in nearly 150 of Wingstop’s almost 2,000 restaurants, the company officially launched its proprietary MyWingstop platform. By the end of 2023, 67% of Wingstop’s transactions were digital, but a third party initiated the transactions. Wingstop says its goal is to have 100% of its transactions digitized to allow for more personalization when interacting with its customers.
“This is something we’ve invested in over the last three years, and we’re really excited about how this is going to be a step forward and really enable us to continue our journey to digitizing every transaction,” said Michael Skipworth, Wingstop CEO. “This is going to allow us to lean into hyper-personalization and continue to drive consideration conversion — and ultimately frequency — with our digital guests over time. We’re really excited about protecting and investing in a digital business that is now over $2 billion.”
According to Skipworth, Wingstop started investing in the proprietary tech stack three years ago for $50 million. The company sought to increase average unit volumes (AUVs), which reached $1.8 million during the third quarter of 2023. This was a rise from $1.7 million during the second quarter. The company hopes to average $2M AUVs per store.

Arby’s Declares April Free Sandwich Month For Reward Members
In an effort to increase its rewards program membership, Arby’s is offering a free sandwich each week for Arby’s Rewards members with purchases made through its app or the fast food sandwich chain’s website. Part of the goal is to entice Arby’s customers and loyalty members to try various menu items. As part of its promotion, Arby’s plans to offer an “Arby’s Try Detector” in which four of its skeptics will be quizzed about how they feel when sampling an Arby’s sandwich. Each participant will be strapped to a biometric scanner.
“During Free Sandwich Month, we’re putting our money where our mouth is with our biggest rewards promotion to date,” said Ellen Rose, Arby’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Arby’s sandwiches are so delicious, which is why Free Sandwich Month is the perfect opportunity for any skeptics out there to try any of the sandwiches they’ve been eyeing. We’re so confident that our sandwiches will turn even the biggest Arby’s disbeliever into a fan that we’re willing to give them four free trials throughout the month of April.”
Other restaurant chains have had similar promotions. Carl’s Jr. restaurants recently held a hamburger giveaway to attract new members to their loyalty program. Almost 200,000 members signed up. Restaurant chains say that members of loyalty programs spend more for each transaction, with digital orders also resulting in higher-priced orders. Moreover, the data collected from reward members helps chains personalize customer offers and promotions.
