Alabama Compliance discourages McDonald’s sponsorship of OL
A University of Alabama football player has been asked to stop asking McDonald’s to “sponsor” him after his name, Evan Neal, was misspelled to “Evan Meal” on ESPN.

The misspelling caused Neal to jokingly solicit the restaurant chain for a sponsorship through Twitter. “Sponsor me @McDonalds,” Neal tweeted.

The University of Alabama compliance department to ask McDonald’s to not engage the college football player.
“Actually @McDonalds, please don’t do this,” Alabama’s compliance department tweeted. “At least not yet. This would jeopardize @ENeal73’s eligibility since current NCAA rules prohibit sponsorship deals for student-athletes. If that ever changes (which it may soon) we’ll be first in line for an Evan Meal!”
