Prime Day 2023 Becomes Amazon’s Biggest Sales Day Ever, Thanks to Amazon Prime Members  

Amazon announced that the first day of this year’s Prime Day event - July 11th - was the single largest sales day in company history. Over the course of the two-day shopping event, Prime members purchased more than 375 million items worldwide and saved more than $2.5 billion on millions of deals across the Amazon store.  

“The first day of Prime Day was the largest sales day in Amazon’s history, and Prime members saved more this year than any other Prime Day event,” said Doug Herrington, CEO of Amazon Stores. “Prime is an incredible value, and we’re proud to offer additional value for members through exclusive deals events like Prime Day. Thank you to our Prime members for continuing to shop in our store, and to our employees and independent sellers around the world who delivered for customers this Prime Day.” 

General Mills and Fetch Celebrate Anniversary of Successful Loyalty Program with Back-to-School Sweepstakes 

General Mills has announced its “Good Rewards Anniversary Sweepstakes,” celebrating the one-year anniversary of the General Mills Good Rewards program. As part of the back-to-school contest, three lucky winners will receive a 13-inch MacBook Air and full value back on products from General Mills' brands including, Cheerios, Yoplait, Totino's and Pillsbury — through the Fetch app. Through August 1, 2023, consumers can enter by joining the free Good Rewards loyalty program, available exclusively on Fetch.

Fanatics Will Launch Fanatics Events, Creating Unique Experience Focused on Sports Collectibles  

Fanatics recently unveiled its plans to launch a new live events business, aiming to recreate the thrilling "Comic-Con experience" for sports collectibles enthusiasts. The brand's latest venture, called "Fanatics Events," is a collaborative effort with the esteemed events and talent management company IMG. While Fanatics has predominantly been recognized as an e-commerce platform, it is now seeking to diversify its offerings in preparation for an upcoming initial public offering. 

Through strategic partnerships and acquisitions, Fanatics Events intends to organize exciting global events. The initial focus will be on the lucrative collectibles sector, but the company is also keen on exploring opportunities to innovate and expand beyond this realm. As part of its ambitious plans, Fanatics aims to commence hosting events starting next year.
