AliExpress Enhances the Customer Experience as it Prepares for Singles’ Day Sale Shopping Festival
Global online retail marketplace AliExpress, under the umbrella of Alibaba International Digital Commerce Group, is gearing up for Singles’ Day on November 11 with discounts of up to 90% on millions of products, from gadgets and fashion to home essentials and more. One of the largest global shopping events, Singles’ Day, also dubbed “Double 11,” offers steep discounts for early shoppers beginning November 8. According to AliExpress’ recent U.S. Consumer Insights Report, nearly 80% of U.S. consumers prioritize discounts when shopping for the holidays, with more than half interested in an earlier major shopping holiday. AliExpress has also partnered with Klarna to introduce the “$1 Challenge,” where U.S. shoppers can access incredible deals for just $1. In addition, two lucky winners will win a $10,000 flight credit or a $3,000 shopping credit, adding even more excitement to the event.
AliExpress U.S. Head of Marketing Chris Carl said, “With our report indicating that 28% of consumers treat themselves only once a year or less, and 29% are not treating themselves more due to budget constraints, major promotional events that are earlier in the holiday season like Singles’ Day are perhaps more significant than ever. We strive for Singles’ Day to be a moment where everyone can feel good about treating themselves because they know they’re getting a great deal. Beyond that, we also aim to make online shopping a fun and engaging experience. This Singles’ Day, that means offering incredible prizes through our ‘$1 Challenge’ and encouraging consumers to show us their moves with our ‘Shake that App’ social media challenge.”
AliExpress is also partnering with choreographer Taylor Terry to launch the “Shake that App” dance challenge. From November 1 to 18, users can join in by dancing to the official campaign song and tagging #ShakeThatApp and #AliExpress. The top daily entries win $100 in shopping credits. To participate in the $1 Challenge, users shake their app daily for chances to access exclusive deals, including a dedicated Dollar Express channel featuring must-have items they can buy for just $1. Shoppers will also have a chance to win daily prizes, including the Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Eureka E10s Robot Vacuum, the Insta360 X4 8K camera, and an HP 14” Business Laptop.

Record-Breaking 2024 Skechers Pier-to-Pier Friendship Walk Raises More Than $3.4M for Children’s Causes
This year’s Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk has shattered its previous attendance and fundraising records, culminating in more than 22,000 participants and raising more than $3.4M, well above its initial $2.5 million goal. Now in its 16th year, the event has become one of California’s most significant fundraisers for children, supporting kids with special needs, public schools, and collegiate scholarships. Key supporters like Brooke Burke and Sugar Ray Leonard joined returning sponsor Nickelodeon, helping drive the Walk’s total impact to-date past $27 million.
Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk Co-Founder Michael Greenberg said, “Like so many memorable sweet 16 celebrations, this year was one for the ages—all thanks to our incredible co-sponsor Nickelodeon, generous companies, and passionate community. It takes a village to raise a child—and our village has nurtured this event from an enthusiastic neighborhood movement to one of California’s most impactful walks for youth—one that just keeps getting bigger and having a greater and greater impact on our kids.”
Beyond direct funding for education and special needs, the Walk has evolved into a community celebration, bringing celebrities, athletes, and families together supporting children. Burke, a 13-time participant, praised the unprecedented energy of this year’s event, attributing its growing success to the deeply engaged community. Donations from the fundraiser will help support a $55M campus slated to open in 2026. The future Friendship Campus, i.e., Greenberg Family/Skechers Center, will be the center of a Creative Arts Center, Life Skills programming, Culinary Institute, and other vocational programs as well as many mentoring and early education opportunities for young adult students to thrive as they transition to the workforce.

Gillette and Movember Unite to Champion Men’s Health This November
Each November, millions of men participate in the Movember movement by growing mustaches to raise awareness for men’s health issues. At the forefront of the campaign is increased awareness of prostate cancer.
