A loaf of bread, a gallon of milk—and gasoline?
Jacksonville-based Winn-Dixie has rolled out its new customer rewards card, which now carries the additional benefit of discounts on gasoline at selected area service stations.
The “fuelperks!” program provides per-gallon discounts on gasoline, in addition to discounts on selected in-store items. The “fuelperks!’ discount is 5 cents per gallon for every $50 spent at Winn-Dixie using the card. The discounts can accumulate. If a shopper spends $500 in a month, they get 50 cents off per gallon the next time he or she uses the card when they gas up.
Mary Kellmanson, Winn-Dixie’s Group Vice President of Marketing, said the new cards have been mailed to customers over the last two weeks. Customers can obtain a single “fob” that can be attached to a key chain and a full-size card with magnetic strip on back.
“You can use the key fob to earn your points at Winn-Dixie, but you have to use the mag card at the gas station,” Kellmanson said.
The cards are accepted at 67 metropolitan area gas stations—select Shell, Sunoco and Citgo stations. The list of stations is to be made available on the Winn-Dixie Web site, Winn-Dixie spokesman Joshua Whitton said.
