Augme Mobile Health Expands Leadership Team, Names Healthcare Industry Veteran Donna Lloyd as Vice President of Sales
NEW YORK—Augme Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:MDVX), a leading technology and services leader in interactive media marketing platforms, announced today that the company is expanding Augme Mobile Health as part of its business development strategy to capitalize on major growth trends in pharmaceutical mobile marketing and advertising. Augme Mobile Health, based on Augme’s patented AD LIFE™ platform, is the first and only comprehensive, patented, Web-based platform that gives pharmaceutical marketers and their agencies the ability to create, manage and track two-way HIPAA-compliant communications between traditional media and mobile phones.
Augme Mobile Health transforms existing pharmaceutical Web sites by formatting specifically for each type of mobile device, further supporting marketing goals by enabling mobile Web access for HCPs, patients, and caregivers. Augme Mobile Health then integrates mobile Web-based content with traditional print advertising via SMS, audio recognition, bar code scanning and image capture, seamlessly enabling leading-edge mobile applications such as video content delivery and coupon fulfillment.
In 2009, pharmaceutical companies spent more than $220 million on Internet marketing, a significant 71 percent increase over 2008, according to TNS Media Intelligence. The Internet saw the highest growth in preferred pharmaceutical marketing mediums. Pharmaceutical companies are now favoring marketing through new media technologies like mobile-Web integration and interactivity and shying away from traditional advertising mediums like television and magazine, which saw a 2 percent and a 17.2 percent drop in spending respectively from 2008 to 2009 according to the same report.
“Pharmaceutical companies spend billions of dollars each year on traditional marketing mediums. However, behaviors are changing across the pharmaceutical marketing landscape, which includes health care providers, patients, and consumers,” said Mark Severini, CEO of Augme. “There is a shift to new media like mobile marketing that achieves brand interactivity, enhances HCP and consumer experiences, and provides brands with immediate response metrics. Rather than rely on static, one-way communication, we create an interactive and mutually beneficial dialog between brand and the target audience.”
“I am convinced, based on the initial uptake of our mobile health initiatives that the pharmaceutical mobile marketing segment will easily grow to $25–50 million in as little as three years. As first mover in the space, we envision that Augme Mobile Health would capture at least 60 percent of that market,” Severini said. “Bringing on Donna Lloyd as VP of Sales to complement our ongoing efforts of other partnerships we have in the works, is a major step on the way to this goal.”
As part of its expansion of Augme Mobile Health, Augme has named healthcare business development expert Donna Lloyd as Vice President of Sales. Lloyd’s extensive experience has helped her clients build successful digital campaigns by harnessing the power of emerging technologies, the Internet and e-messaging capabilities.
Prior to joining Augme, Lloyd was an executive at the Physicians’ Desk Reference (PDR), a Thomson Reuters Company, where she led the transformation from print to electronic business in the pharmaceutical market, including mobile solutions. During her tenure at PDR, Lloyd grew the company’s e-business division more than 126 percent annually. Lloyd also held executive positions as the principal business development executive at Skyscape and vice president of business development at MedCases Inc.
“Pharmaceutical companies are now realizing the incredible opportunities presented by mobile marketing, and it is clear to me that Augme is leading the way in interactive media marketing with the most advanced mobile content adaption platform in the industry,” said Lloyd. “What attracted me to this company is best-of-breed technology and services backed by a commitment to the growth of Augme Mobile Health. I am thrilled to join this high caliber team of passionate experts to bring pharmaceutical mobile solutions to this rapidly growing market segment.”
Said Jeannette Brandofino, Managing Partner of Augme Mobile Health, “Pharmaceutical companies want a more caring, compliant and intimate experience with their Healthcare providers, patients and consumers to deliver a higher quality of care and interaction at point of prescription or need. Mobile enhancement dramatically increases the value of traditional marketing by allowing an instant connection for HIPAA-complaint communications. With Donna’s extensive knowledge and expertise in healthcare marketing sales in both the digital and e-space, Augme Mobile Health will be able to achieve significant market growth within the pharmaceutical industry.”
