SeatGeek has introduced its latest product innovation, “Beyond the Seat.” The new feature will redefine how fans perceive and purchase event tickets by showcasing the value of premium experiences throughout the buying journey. By offering a more transparent and visually immersive ticketing process, SeatGeek empowers fans to make informed decisions while helping teams and venues highlight the unique perks tied to specific seats.
Despite significant investments in upgraded venues and exclusive amenities, many fans are still unaware of what differentiates premium seating from general admission. According to a Fall 2024 SeatGeek survey, over 40% of sports fans struggle to identify premium options, and more than half of general ticket buyers feel unsure about the value proposition. This uncertainty doesn’t stem from reluctance to spend. It stems from a lack of clarity about what they’re getting for their money. Beyond the Seat is designed to bridge this gap by making these offerings visible, engaging, and easy to understand.
SeatGeek Co-Founder Russ D’Souza said, “Fans aren’t just buying a seat, they’re buying the experience around it. This release helps our partners bring that full experience to life earlier in the journey. Fans know what they’re getting, and teams and venues can fill more seats and drive stronger returns.”
With features like immersive 360-degree views, in-app seat upgrades, and rich media content, fans can now visualize the full experience, whether it’s access to VIP lounges, inclusive catering, or exclusive entrances. Premium tickets are displayed alongside standard options, helping buyers compare and select experiences that best fit their preferences. This clarity boosts buyer confidence and increases conversion rates and overall satisfaction. Corporate partners and season ticket holders can also more effectively share the value of their seats within their networks, encouraging greater usage and appreciation.
SeatGeek is currently rolling out Beyond the Seat across select partners and leagues. Key elements such as Experiential Shopping are already live for MLB fans on desktop, while Premium Listings and Real Fan Views are in beta testing phases. The company continues to develop immersive features that make the purchase journey more dynamic and personalized. With this release, SeatGeek reaffirms its mission: to bring the energy, excitement, and value of live events closer to fans, well before they reach their seats.
