Chipotle is turning up the heat this summer with its new promotion, “Summer of Extras,” running from June 1 through August 31. The campaign invites U.S. Chipotle Rewards members to opt in for a chance to earn extra points, exclusive badges, and free burritos. As part of the celebration, Chipotle is randomly dropping 10,000 free burritos into participating members’ digital wallets every week throughout the promotion. Participants can also enter sweepstakes drawings for a shot at winning free burritos for an entire year.
Chipotle Chief Customer and Technology Officer Curt Garner said, “Summer of Extras kicks off our most rewarding summer ever through a gamified experience that rewards and recognizes our top guests with exceptional value and visibility into how their fandom and frequency ranks amongst fellow members. Visiting more this summer can enable members to earn free Chipotle faster.”
Once enrolled, members can unlock rewards by reaching monthly milestones through qualifying entrée purchases. Each milestone earns additional bonus points, sweepstakes entries, and exclusive digital badges. The milestones reset every month, allowing members to continue racking up benefits throughout the summer.
A standout feature of the campaign is its gamified experience. Members can track their progress on a leaderboard that compares their activity with others in their state.

In addition to weekly burrito giveaways and milestone rewards, 49 grand prize winners, one from each of the 48 states where Chipotle operates, plus Washington D.C., will win free burritos for a year and a $100 stainless steel gift card.
