Verizon Becomes Official Innovation and 5G Partner of US Club Soccer

US Club Soccer, a non-profit organization aimed at growing and supporting soccer clubs in the United States, recently announced a partnership with Verizon. The agreement will see Verizon become the “Official Innovation and 5G Partner” of US Club Soccer.

As part of the partnership, Verizon will be the presenting sponsor of the id2 Program – which provides an opportunity for the top youth soccer players in the country to be identified, developed and scouted for inclusion in U.S. Soccer’s National Team programs – and Player Development Program (regionally based identification and development programs). Verizon also will support other US Club Soccer initiatives, including Players First and LaLiga Formation Methodology.

“US Club Soccer is very excited to be Verizon’s first youth soccer partner in the U.S., as the company really makes a commitment to our sport,” said Kevin Payne, US Club Soccer CEO. “Having a partner of the scale and expertise of Verizon is terrific for us and our programs, especially our id2 Boys and Girls Programs. As Verizon rolls out the future in the form of 5G to communities across America, we’re thrilled to be able to call them our partner.”

The agreement gives Verizon the opportunity to reach US Club Soccer’s membership base through digital, social and other marketing channels while moving into the U.S. soccer landscape.

“US Club Soccer is the ideal partner for us as we enter into youth soccer and continue to grow our engagement in the sport,” said John Nitti, Chief Media Officer, Verizon. “As the official innovation and 5G partner we're excited to not only support the organization, but also identify the way Verizon's technology can support the sport and it's young players.”

Other partners of US Club soccer include Nike, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Gatorade, Insurance Office of America, and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson.

Last summer, Audi of America and Major League Soccer announced a league-wide, multi-year initiative to further elevate the game of soccer in North America by enhancing the on- and off-field experience at MLS Academies. The partners unveiled a youth academy support program, Audi Goals Drive Progress, to help provide funding for MLS Academies.

We at Loyalty360 are eager to see if this partnership between Verizon and US Club Soccer proves to be mutually beneficial moving forward.
