In a move aimed at bringing Uber Eats restaurant delivery to Instacart customers across the United States, Instacart and Uber Technologies, Inc. are partnering to integrate Uber Eats’ extensive restaurant network into the Instacart app. In the coming weeks, the collaboration will enable millions of Instacart customers across the U.S. to order meals directly through a newly introduced “Restaurants” tab in the Instacart app, offering a seamless way for customers to order from menus of nearby restaurants and view real-time tracking.
Instacart users will be able to access hundreds of thousands of restaurants, along with their regular grocery shopping from more than 1,500 national, regional, and local retailers available on the platform, adding convenience and value to Instacart+ users, who will benefit from zero delivery fees on both grocery and restaurant orders over $35.
“Our goal is to make it effortless for people to go anywhere and get anything,” said Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber. “We’re excited that this new strategic partnership with Instacart will bring the magic of Uber Eats to even more consumers, drive more business for restaurants, and create more earnings opportunities for couriers.”
The partnership is another way for Uber to increase orders for its Uber Eats restaurant partners while enabling Uber to offer its portfolio of restaurants to millions of customers, including those living in the suburbs that utilize Instacart. It also allows both companies to leverage solutions and technologies to support brick-and-mortar businesses in engaging with a new subset of customers online and enhance the customer experience for Instacart users.
