SPC and Hudson’s Bay Link Loyalty Programs to Reward Student Shoppers

Students in Canada can now earn rewards and get monthly discounts at the nation’s oldest department store chain. Student Price Card (SPC), a loyalty program for students aged 14 to 24, and Hudson’s Bay have partnered to enhance the customer experience for young consumers.

"The partnership between Hudson's Bay and SPC underscores the commitment of both organizations to provide unparalleled value to the next generation of shoppers," said Kevin Parry, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Hudson's Bay.

Students who link their SPC and Hudson’s Bay Rewards accounts get back 15% of the value of Hudson’s Bay purchases in reward points. The retailer said this equates to 30 points for every dollar spent — 30 times the earn rate of the base program. Points can be applied to future purchases, with customers getting about $5 off for every 1,000 points redeemed.

Monthly in-store discounts are available to all SPC members with a valid student ID. The initial offer is 10% off eligible apparel and accessories, including sale-priced items.

"Our partnership with Hudson's Bay gives students the opportunity to save money on top brands," says Lorena Monetti, Director of Marketing at SPC. "As costs continue to rise, students need a seamless way to stretch their budgets.”
