Outdoor content creator Outside Interactive Inc., known for magazines covering topics ranging from backpacking to yoga, teamed up with Brooks Running, a fitness apparel, footwear, and accessories retailer, to produce a customized newsletter for U.S.-based subscribers that will highlight local content for runners. “Your Local Running Drop” will contain valuable news on places to run and events of interest and seeks to provide educational information.
Outside Interactive will curate most of the content planned for the digital communication, leveraging its broad collection of videos, stories, podcasts, and other assets from its network. A massive database listing 10M+ trails and other routes will be tapped to provide runners with recommendations for stretching their legs. Content will also be pulled from the athleteReg database to inform subscribers about local events.
“We believe that delivering content tailored to subscribers’ locations and interests enhances engagement and fosters a sense of community among like-minded individuals,” said Robin Thurston, CEO and Founder at Outside Interactive. “By integrating external content such as local news stories, government resources for camping reservations, and weather updates, we aim to provide a holistic experience for our readers.”
Brooks Running will also provide content featuring new products, brand campaigns, and local store events.
“This purpose-built newsletter aligns perfectly with our mission to inspire people to run their path and be active,” said Ryan Ngo, VP of North America Marketing and Ecommerce at Brooks Running.
