Novartis Becomes First Corporate Pharmaceutical Partner of the NFL

Novartis and the National Football League (NFL) recently announced a groundbreaking partnership, naming Novartis as the league’s first official corporate pharmaceutical partner. This multi-year, exclusive agreement aims to leverage the NFL’s vast fan base to promote proactive health management. By integrating health education int the football experience, the collaboration seeks to inspire fans to prioritize their well-being.

A central component of this partnership is Novartis’s support for the NFL’s ‘Crucial Catch’ initiative, conducted in collaboration with the American Cancer Society (ACS). ‘Crucial Catch’ focuses on raising cancer awareness, encouraging early detection, and reducing risk, particularly in underserved communities. Early detection is vital, as the five-year survival rate for many cancers exceeds 90% when identified promptly. By joining forces, Novartis and the NFL aim to address health disparities and empower individuals to take charge of their health.

Beyond ‘Crucial Catch’, Novartis will serve as the presenting partner for several key NFL events, including the Health and Safety Summit, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game, and the Hall of Fame Class Presentation at NFL Honors. The company will also support the “My Cause My Cleats” program, which highlights players’ personal charitable causes. Additionally, Novartis plans to have a presence at major events such as the NFL Draft and Super Bowl LX, further integrating health advocacy into the league’s activities.

Novartis’s U.S. President, Victor  Bultó, emphasized the partnership’s goal to “educate and mobilize communities to detect cancer and other diseases early, broadening health solutions beyond medicine."
