Visa Partners with Affirm to Launch Flexible Credential Globally for New Payment Experiences
Visa's innovative “Flexible Credential” is transforming payment options worldwide by allowing consumers to use a single card for multiple payment sources. The Visa Flexible Credential debuts in the United States with Affirm, a buy-now-pay-later service. Through the Affirm Card, U.S. consumers can seamlessly choose to pay for purchases immediately or over time without late fees. This product, already popular with more than 1.4 million U.S. users, highlights Visa’s commitment to empowering users with more flexible and transparent payment options.
Affirm CEO Max Levchin said, “We’re excited about the partnership we’ve formed with Visa. Since our founding, our mission has remained the same — build honest financial products that improve lives. Part of building better financial products also means giving consumers more control and flexibility, which has always been a key feature of the new Affirm Card. We look forward to bringing millions more people a product that seamlessly brings debit and credit together, without late or hidden fees.”
Visa’s Flexible Credential is also making a significant impact internationally. In the UAE, the Liv digital bank offers travelers a single card for multiple currency accounts, simplifying cross-border transactions. This capability meets the needs of UAE consumers who engage in high levels of international spending, allowing them to choose the most suitable currency for their purchases. Liv’s Chief Digital Officer, Pedro Sousa Cardoso, states that this collaboration with Visa supports their mission to deliver innovative and flexible financial solutions. Liv’s offering currently supports the five most commonly used currencies, including the U.S. Dollar, British Pound, Euro, and Canadian and Australian dollars. It aims to improve transparency for international users. Visa’s expansion of the Flexible Credential also addresses the needs of small businesses. In Japan, Visa’s partner Sumitomo Mitsui Card Company (SMCC) introduced the Olive card, which allowed more than three million users to switch between debit, credit, and prepaid sources. Additionally, small businesses can access credit and manage cash flow more efficiently by toggling between business and personal accounts on the same card.

Sinclair Oil Expands Partnership with Folds of Honor to Support Veterans’ Families Through Education
Sinclair Oil recently announced a renewed partnership with Folds of Honor, a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships for families of fallen or disabled U.S. service members and first responders. The initiative runs through December 31, 2024, and allows drivers to contribute by filling up at participating Sinclair-branded stations. A portion of each fuel sale will be donated by the station and matched dollar-for-dollar by Sinclair Oil, up to a total contribution of $500,000. With the help of customers and retail partners, Sinclair aims to raise $1M this holiday season, continuing its commitment to honor the sacrifices of American heroes.
HF Sinclair VP of Branded Marketing Fergie Theriault said, “As we approach the end of any year, we are reminded of the honor and sacrifice of our country’s service members. This season, our company is unified in our desire to see the children of U.S. heroes have funds in hand to pursue their education and dreams.”
Since initiating its collaboration with Folds of Honor in 2022, Sinclair Oil has raised substantial funds for local communities, where many veterans reside. Through the “Fueling Folds of Honor” campaign, Sinclair ensures that the funds collected in each community benefit the local families directly, fostering a strong connection between Sinclair stations and the areas they serve. Stations will also offer Folds of Honor merchandise for sale, with all proceeds supporting the organization’s mission. Customers who wish to contribute further can join Folds of Honor’s Squadron as monthly donors, supporting scholarships year-round. In recent years, Sinclair and its distributor network have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars through their annual Fueling Folds of Honor campaigns, including $820,000 in 2022 and $635,000 in 2023. Beyond this, HF Sinclair also supports organizations such as Carry the Load and the National Cemetery Administration, reinforcing its dedication to honoring and assisting veterans and their families.
