Save A Lot Introduces Loyalty Program to Boost Shopper Savings

Grocery chain Save A Lot has rolled out its first loyalty program, Save A Lot Rewards. Available through a newly launched mobile app, the program allows shoppers to earn “dots” (points), which can be redeemed for products at their local stores. The loyalty program allows flexibility for individual stores, giving them the ability to customize the app with locally tailored offers. The app will also have exclusive deals and coupons to enhance the loyalty program's value further.

Save A Lot Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer Trey Johnson said, “Save A Lot Rewards marks our evolution in the digital space – even as an independent, bannered wholesaler, we recognize the importance of personalized and incentivized shopping. There’s benefit in a loyalty program for everyone – more value for our shoppers to get better deals and value for us in learning more about who is shopping at Save A Lot, so we can better serve them.”

Save A Lot is offering weekly deals to celebrate the launch, including $0.49 for eggs and $0.99 for a 24-pack of Crystal Falls Water, available through November 19. These one-time offers are available to both new and existing loyalty members. The app is accessible from the Apple and Android app stores.

American Eagle Launches AE Foundation to Support Youth Mental Health

American Eagle Outfitters is introducing the AE Foundation to improve mental health among young adults. The foundation is part of AE’s continued commitment to improving the lives of young adults and teenagers, empowering authenticity, and fostering mental health awareness in the youth community. Through initiatives like the Signature Grant program, which awards up to $100,000, and localized Community Grants, the AE Foundation supports grassroots organizations that provide essential mental health resources.

AE & Aerie Executive Creator Director Jennifer Foyle stated, “We are so pleased to launch the AE Foundation and formally expand our philanthropic commitment as we continue to support, empower, and positively inspire our customer community. American Eagle is a leading brand for 15-25-year-olds–which means we have a unique opportunity to directly engage with millions of young adults to help them prioritize mental health and well-being. Through our partnership with Bring Change to Mind, we are opening a dialogue, building awareness, and creating a better future for all.”

To mark its debut, the AE Foundation awarded its first $100,000 Signature Grant to Bring Change to Mind (BC2M), a nonprofit co-founded by actress Glenn Close. BC2M aims to combat stigma and discrimination about mental illness, particularly among teens. American Eagle has been a significant supporter of BC2M since 2021, raising more than $1.6 million through its partnership. The AE Foundation also plans to expand its reach by offering additional grants and volunteer opportunities. For Giving Tuesday on December 3, a new grantee will be announced, with future grants supporting organizations focused on youth mental health. In addition, the foundation will provide Community Grants of up to $15,000 to grassroots groups.
