Planet Fitness has announced the return of its popular PerksFest, running from Cyber Monday through December 11, 2024. This two-week event offers exclusive savings to Planet Fitness members on a variety of top brands, including Fitbit, Crocs, Expedia, and Blue Apron, among others. Discounts are accessible through the PF App, helping members save money on fitness gear, travel, meals, and more just in time for holiday shopping. 

Highlights of the PerksFest offerings include: 

  • Fitbit: $70 off select devices. 

  • Crocs: 30% off footwear. 

  • Expedia: Over 25% discounts on travel bookings. 

  • Blue Apron: Up to $180 off meal kit deliveries. 

  • PF Store: 35% off gym merchandise. 

In addition to these limited-time deals, Planet Fitness members benefit year-round from the Perks program, which provides discounts on everyday essentials. New members can join during PerksFest with special promotions, including a $1 down offer for PF Black Card memberships.

JCPenney Partners with Revieve 

JCPenney has partnered with Revieve to enhance its beauty retail experience through AI-powered solutions, leading to significant improvements in customer engagement and sales.  

Key Implementations and Results: 

  • AI Skincare Advisor: Users engaging with this tool exhibited a 23% higher average order value (AOV) compared to other shoppers. Additionally, customer engagement increased, with consumers spending 103% more time on the site. 

  • AI Haircare Advisor: Customers using this advisor experienced a 20% increase in AOV compared to other JCPenney e-commerce users. Engagement also saw a boost, with users spending twice as much time on the site. 

  • AI Makeup Artist Virtual Try-On: 

  • Mass Brands: Achieved a 108% increase in conversion rates, a 24% increase in AOV, and a 75% increase in time spent on the site. 

  • Prestige Brands: Saw a 65% increase in conversion rates, a 24% increase in AOV, and a 69% increase in time spent on the site. 

These AI-driven tools have not only elevated customer experience but also set a new benchmark for innovation and personalization in the retail industry, further solidifying JCPenney's position as a leader in beauty retail.

Chipotle Mexican Grill Opens 1,000th Chipotlane 

Chipotle Mexican Grill has achieved a significant milestone by opening its 1,000th Chipotlane, a drive-thru pickup lane designed for digital orders. This location is situated in Olathe, Kansas, at 14833 West 151st Street, and operates daily from 10:45 a.m. to 11 p.m.  

Introduced in 2018, the Chipotlane model has become a cornerstone of Chipotle's expansion strategy. The company plans to accelerate its growth by opening 315 to 345 new restaurants in 2025, with at least 80% featuring a Chipotlane. This is an increase from the anticipated 285 to 315 new units opening this year, marking a record number for the company.  

The emphasis on Chipotlanes is driven by their performance; these locations have generated higher volumes and returns compared to traditional formats. Digital sales have remained above 30% since peaking during the pandemic, underscoring the importance of digital channels in Chipotle's business model.  

In addition to expanding Chipotlanes, Chipotle is investing in technological innovations to enhance efficiency. The company is testing an Augmented Makeline—a collaborative robotic system developed with California-based tech company Hyphen—at a restaurant in Corona del Mar, California. This system is designed to build bowls and salads, which comprise approximately 65% of all digital orders, potentially freeing up employees to focus on other tasks and improving service for dine-in guests.  

These strategic initiatives reflect Chipotle's commitment to leveraging digital innovation and operational efficiency to drive growth and meet evolving consumer preferences.
