El Pollo Loco Brings Curbside Pickup National
El Pollo Loco has started curbside pickup, giving customers a faster and easier way to access their favorite menu items from the safety and convenience of their vehicle. The curbside innovation comes on the heels of the newly launched Loco Rewards program to elevate the customer experience.
The new curbside offering features GPS-enabled functionality, allowing customers the opportunity to automatically alert the restaurant team that they have arrived for the fastest possible service. Upon arrival, customers can pull into the dedicated pickup parking spots at the restaurant and their order will be brought to their vehicle within minutes.
“We are dedicated to making it as easy as possible for our customers to get access to our food,” says Bernard Acoca, President and Chief Executive Officer at El Pollo Loco. “As we continue to digitize our business with our customers convenience at the forefront, we knew curbside was key to ensuring a more seamless customer experience.”
To celebrate the launch, El Pollo Loco is offering an exclusive promotion on National Taco Day. Customers who place a curbside order in the app on October 4 will receive two free Tacos al Carbons on their next visit.
Walmart Unveils New Store Design With Self-Checkout Kiosks
A future trip to your local Walmart might soon remind you of shopping on the retailer's app. Walmart unveiled a new, reimagined store design Wednesday rolling out to 200 locations this fiscal year, which ends in early 2021, and another 1,000 by next fiscal year that officials say will create a "seamless" omni shopping experience with more self-checkout kiosks and contactless payment options.
Janey Whiteside, the retailer's chief customer officer and an executive vice president, said the new design was planned before the coronavirus pandemic and one of the goals is to save shoppers time.
"We're working hard to make it easy for customers to be able to toggle between their physical experiences that are in the store and their digital journeys," Whiteside said in an interview with USA TODAY. "We think customers are going to really enjoy and find this a much easier shopping experience."
MGM Says It Can Safely Host Conventions During COVID-19
MGM Resorts doesn’t want it to be a gamble for visitors to attend events at its properties. The Las Vegas-based hotel and casino owner released its “convene with confidence” plan Tuesday to safely host meetings and conventions at its U.S. properties.
The plan includes a “multi-layered health screening process” with on-site rapid molecular COVID-19 tests that provide results in about 20 minutes, according to MGM.
Meal and break times at events will be carefully planned in order to “optimize guest movement,” according to MGM. The resorts will offer pre-packaged meals for attendees at events. The properties will be able to host in-person, virtual or hybrid events. Digital pre-registration will be conducted in advance, and scheduling will be used to help with distancing any time physical registration desks are required.
