Cedar Point announces Pass Perks rewards program
Cedar Point, the amusement park located in Sandusky, Ohio and known as the “roller coast capital of the world”, announced on Wednesday a rewards program exclusively for season passholders. With the Pass Perks program, members have the chance to earn surprises that can be redeemed on future visits. Additionally, with each visit, guests are entered into a drawing for a free VIP experience. Rewards range from complimentary Bring-A-Friend tickets, free food and drinks, or large discounts on park merchandise. Those with Cedar Point gold platinum passes for 2020 are already enrolled in the program. The park mentioned that they will announce additional program benefits for the 2020 season later this year.

Brierley+Partners, today announced that its customer, Sapporo Lion, was awarded the Platinum award at Loyalty360’s Customer Loyalty Awards. The star of Sapporo’s winning campaign was Brierley’s B-stamp, which enabled Sapporo to overcome its challenges in customer tracking, while driving engagement with an interactive experience. Sapporo and Brierley collaborated to create this unique program for Sapporo at Yebisu Bar, a popular bar managed by Sapporo Lion, with more than 20 locations across Japan. The program focused on rewarding, tracking and engaging groups of customers in a loyalty program—all relevant to each customer, in a personal way.
 
PayPal to Buy Honey Science for $4 Billion
PayPal Holdings Inc. has reached a roughly $4 billion deal to buy shopping and rewards platform Honey Science Corp., as it pushes to gain a bigger role in consumers’ shopping habits. Honey, which is profitable and generated more than $100 million in revenue in 2018, helps people find discount codes online. It also helps merchants target consumers by developing personalized offers. PayPal executives say that Honey, which will be embedded into its apps, would help drive deeper engagement with its 300 million customers while helping merchants target new customer segments.

Citibank Rated #1 in Customer Satisfaction Across Retail Banking in ACSI Report
Citibank rated Number One for customer satisfaction across the retail banking industry, following being top rated among national banks in 2016 and 2017, according to a report released this week by the American Customer Satisfaction Index, or ACSI. The ACSI report also rated Citibank Number One among national banks for perceived value, customer loyalty, customer retention, ease of adding/changing accounts, competitive rates, and call center satisfaction.

Kroger reverses course on facelift as Target and Walmart keep winning
Grocery store chain Kroger is reversing course on its attempt to stay competitive by dipping into apparel, meal kits and more, so now the company is getting back to what it's always done best: selling groceries. Kroger will slow down its plans to renovate stores, which will keep more stores in operation after Kroger laid off hundreds of employees in October. That means many customers will get to keep the experience they're used to. Kroger, the largest supermarket chain in the U.S., is figuring out its place among online delivery services like Amazon Fresh, high-end grocery stores like Wegmans and discounters like Lidl.
