Nike Lets Runners Try New Shoes by Going on a Virtual Trek
Talk about exercising your gamification options. Nike, with a little techno help from Wieden + Kennedy Shanghai, are giving runners a chance to try out their new Epic React model shoes by taking them on a run over city rooftops, forests, deserts, beaches and past the Great Sphinx of Giza, giant pandas and various parts of China—all while never leaving the treadmill. It works like this: Runners lace up a pair of the new Nike’s, have their profile digitized and then hop on a treadmill that faces a giant screen. The runner’s avatar shows up and starts running in conjunction with the treadmill, making the runner look like he’s just dropped into the middle of a Super Mario Bros. game. Runners then get a 10-second video of their trek to post on social media. Unfortunately, according to an article in Adweek, the fun is only available in stores in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Chengdu.
New Loyalty Program at Waitbusters’ Digital Diner
Waitbusters LLC, a service-disabled veteran owned company, has added a loyalty program to its Digital Diner guest management and marketing software, according to an article in Hospitality Technology. Waitbusters is a provider of innovative restaurant technology solutions. Its Digital Diner solution offers restaurants the ability to create better experiences for their guests, save money, create new revenue streams, become more profitable, and find and retain customers.
NetCents Technology Launches Loyalty Rewards and Referral Program
NetCents Technology is set to launch a new and innovative loyalty program, according to an article in Business Insider. Officials at NetCents Technology are working with Toronto-based Loyalty and Co. on the new program. According to the article, the launch of the loyalty rewards program ties into the company’s imminent merchant release. With the integration of the first round of merchants nearing completion, the loyalty program will be used to reward consumers for activation, activity, and referrals in the NetCents platform and incentivize merchants for participating in the system.
