Hang Looks to Help Brands Increase Customer Loyalty Through NFTs
Hang, a new B2B NFT startup, is looking to help some of the world’s largest brands replace their existing membership and loyalty programs with NFTs. NFTs create a way for brands to incentivize their users to not only rank up to a new level in their program, but actually appreciate the value of the asset that they own and can later be resold.

“For most brands at a certain scale, it’s pretty hard to offset increasing customer acquisition costs,” Hang co-founder and CEO Matt Smolin told CNBC. “The best way to do that is by increasing the lifetime value of their user base and harnessing loyalty,” which he adds is often done through a tier-based rewards system: the more frequently a customer purchases something or interacts with a given brand, the more benefits they get, and in some cases, they can “level-up” to a certain kind of customer status.

McDonald’s UK Launches Customer Loyalty Rewards Program
McDonald’s recently launched MyMcDonald’s points-based loyalty program in the UK. To support the launch, McDonald’s enlisted a host of celebrities, including YouTuber Yung Filly to hand out free items to customers in select UK locations.

Members can earn points to redeem on menu items or donate points to three charity partners. “Enabling our customers to give back to the communities we serve is so important, and we know many local families will benefit from the points donated in this region,” says Claude Abi-Gerges, McDonald’s franchisee manager.

Macy’s Expands Toys “R” Us Partnership
Macy’s expanded its partnership with WHP Global to bring the Toys“R”Us brand to every Macy’s store in America this holiday season. The Toys“R”Us in-store shops will include hands-on demonstration tables and feature a life-size “Geoffrey on a Bench” photo opportunity.

To celebrate the openings, all Macy’s stores will host nine days of in-store events. Since last August, Macy’s customers have been able to shop Toys“R”Us products online, powered by Macy’s digital and fulfillment ecosystem.
