Hard Rock International and Lionel Messi Unveil "Captain Messi" Superhero Toy and Kids Menu 

Hard Rock International has teamed up with global ambassador Lionel Messi to introduce a new superhero character of the soccer star’s likeness, Captain Messi. The partnership brings the sports icon to life, complete with a limited-edition, posable toy available with any purchase from the Hard Rock Kid’s Menu. Fans can find the Captain Messi toy at Hard Rock Cafes, select hotels, and through the Rock Shop globally and online, alongside a new retail collection featuring apparel, backpacks, lunch boxes, and water bottles. In addition to the superhero launch, Hard Rock is enhancing its kid’s menu with new options, including cheese and pepperoni pizzas, catering to both parents and kids.  

Messi expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration by stating, “My kids and I love watching superhero movies together, so it was really special to work with Hard Rock to create Captain Messi. I hope it helps inspire young fans and families to work hard and believe in themselves to do great things.” 

Messi has partnered as a brand ambassador for Hard Rock for the past three years. He collaborated with Hard Rock to unveil its free Unity by Hard Rock loyalty program, starring in a campaign called “Come Together” to roll out the program. Members of the program can earn and redeem points towards dining experiences, free hotel stays, and merchandise.

Chick-fil-A Introduces Family-Oriented App for Fun and Connection 

Chick-fil-A recently announced it is unveiling a new app called Chick-fil-A Play, set to launch on November 18. The app is designed to offer “free digital fun” and “kid-friendly content. The company emphasizes that the app is not intended to compete with popular streaming services like Netflix or Hulu but rather to provide families an opportunity to have fun and connect with each other.  

Chick-fil-A Executive Director of Brand Strategy Dustin Britt stated in a press release: “Hospitality and fun have always been at the core of the Chick-fil-A family experience, whether inside our restaurants and play areas, or through our Kids Meals. The Chick-fil-A Play App is a digital extension of that experience and another way we’re reimagining ‘Play’ for our guests, in a unique way through entertainment that really encourages time together.” 

The app will be free and will feature original animated shows, interactive stories, e-books, podcasts, games, jokes, video-based recipes, and kid-friendly crafts.

Starbucks Introduces Loyalty Program to Its Guatemala Locations 

Starbucks has announced extending its loyalty program to Guatemalan customers as of October 25, 2024. The Starbucks® Rewards program will allow members in Guatemala to earn stars with every eligible purchase at any Starbucks location. The stars can then be redeemed for a variety of free products, including beverages, food, and merchandise, enhancing the overall customer experience. Customers will also be able to place mobile orders through the Starbucks app, available through Android and iOS stores. Loyalty members will also receive exclusive personalized promotions and priority access to new product drops. 

Starbucks Guatemala Operations Leader Sophia Quijada said, “The launch of Starbucks® Rewards in Guatemala reflects our commitment to continuously improve our customers’ experience through digital innovation.” 

Starbucks® Rewards features two membership tiers: Green and Gold. New members start at the Green tier and earn stars with purchases while receiving rewards such as complimentary birthday beverages. After accumulating 1,600 stars, members advance to the Gold level, unlocking benefits like free personalized beverages and exclusive promotions. Customers can join by downloading the Starbucks® Guatemala app, registering, and earning stars with their first purchase.
