e.l.f. Cosmetics and Katherine Legge Partnership Celebrates Women in Racing
As the Indianapolis 500 geared up for its 108th event, e.l.f. Cosmetics announced it was extending its partnership with professional racer Katherine Legge, making it the first beauty brand to serve as a primary sponsor of a driver. Legge, the only female driver in the race, wore e.l.f.-branded gear, including a helmet and fire suit, and drove a wrapped #51 car. The partnership demonstrated e.l.f.’s commitment to inclusivity and representation in a traditionally male-dominated field.
“At e.l.f., we want to see more women in the driver’s seat—whether in the boardroom, on the court, in the stands, or on the racetrack. We believe inclusivity gives communities who are so passionate about something like racing a win-win outcome because it brings more people into the tent as fans, talent, and sponsors,” said Kory Marchisotto, Chief Marketing Officer, e.l.f. Beauty. “Nine trailblazing women have competed in the Indy 500, and we hope to see this number grow swiftly in the years ahead while also expanding roles and opportunities on teams and crews. Our goal is to create spaces where women and girls feel accepted and represented, giving them the confidence to take the wheel and set their own course.”
The “Lip Oil Change,” co-created with Day One Agency and BRANDed Management, celebrated the nine female drivers who’ve participated in the Indy 500 in its 108-year history. A pit crew of “glow-up” artists, limited-edition merchandise, a DJ, and e.l.f.’s Glow Reviver Lip Oils were also a part of the campaign.

Airheads Unveils New Underwater Vending Machine
Airheads launched a first-of-its-kind Underwater Vending Machine designed to entice more than three-quarters of adults who rarely enter swimming pools like they once did as kids. Priced at $7,000, the waterproof candy-dispensing vending machine aims to rekindle childhood memories of poolside fun with the added twist of being fully functional at up to eight feet underwater. The machine uses an air propulsion system to launch Airheads candy bars. Instead of money, the machine accepts “fun” as currency, encouraging users to engage playfully.
“Our Underwater Vending Machine is sure to get adults excited about jumping back in the pool and re-living the carefree long summer days,” said Craig Cuchra, VP of Marketing at Perfetti Van Melle, maker of Airheads candy. “So many people have nostalgic memories of savoring Airheads at the pool on a hot day and we want to bring this feeling back, and with a fun twist.”
A limited number of the underwater vending machines will be available for purchase starting on Memorial Day, May 27, 2024. The purchase price of $7,000 includes a lifetime supply of Airheads.
