Chipotle Embraces AI for Streamlined Hiring with "Ava Cado"
Chipotle has deployed a new AI-powered hiring platform developed by Paradox to improve the efficiency of its onboarding process when hiring across more than 3,500 restaurants. Named “Ava Cado,” the platform automates key recruitment tasks, from chatting with job candidates to answering questions, gathering information, scheduling interviews, and even sending job offers, all in real-time. The platform is expected to significantly speed up hiring, cutting the time needed to fill restaurant positions by up to 75%. Ava Cado also supports multiple languages, including English, French, Spanish, and German.
Chipotle Chief Human Resources Officer Ilene Eskenazi said, “As we continue to move toward our long-term goal of operating 7,000 restaurants in North America, we are empowering our teams to recruit and hire talent that are excited by our vision to ‘Cultivate a Better World’ and want to grow with us. Paradox operates as if we’ve hired additional administrative support for all our restaurants, freeing up more time for managers to support team members and provide an exceptional guest experience. We’re excited about the early improvements we’re seeing.”
The introduction of Ava Cado coincides with Chipotle’s fall hiring surge, its second busiest hiring season following the spring “Burrito Season” from March to May. Ava Cado’s rollout is being phased in across Chipotle locations, with full deployment expected soon. The platform aligns well with the tech-savvy Gen Z generation, who comprise more than 73% of Chipotle’s workforce.
