Amazon Launches Private Label Brand and Offers Enhanced Prime Savings on Groceries

Amazon announced it’s adding a new private-label brand called Amazon Saver to enhance the customer experience for shoppers looking for budget-friendly essentials. Altogether, Amazon offers more than 1,700 products from its private-label brands, which include 365 Whole Foods Market, Aplenty, Amazon Fresh, Amazon Kitchen, and Happy Belly, all for 10% off daily. The e-commerce giant is also unveiling discounts exclusively for its Prime members, expanding savings on more than 3,000 grocery items. These deals include up to 50% off weekly rotating grocery favorites and 25% off more than 1,200 Prime-exclusive rotating grocery and household items.

“We’re always looking to make grocery shopping easier, faster, and more affordable for our customers,” said Claire Peters, Worldwide Vice President of Amazon Fresh. “With expanded Prime member savings, the introduction of the new Amazon Saver brand, and simplified online shopping, it’s now easier than ever to get your weekly grocery shopping done on a budget with Amazon Fresh—whether you’re browsing the aisles or filling your online cart.”

Amazon Fresh is also enhancing the shopping experience by simplifying its online platform, making it easier for customers to navigate and restock essentials. Features like repeat items, recurring reservations, and intuitive shopping zones allow customers to shop more efficiently. Prime members also benefit from unlimited grocery deliveries in select U.S. cities, offering convenience and savings on orders over $35 through a grocery delivery subscription. Amazon Prime costs $14.99 a month or $139 annually.

Roblox Expands E-Commerce Strategy with Shopify Partnership

Roblox announced it is partnering with Shopify to enable developers, creators, and brands using Shopify to sell physical products directly within Roblox games. The pilot program will begin in the coming weeks, with a full rollout expected in early 2025. This marks the first such integration for Roblox, which plans to collaborate with additional e-commerce platforms. The goal is to provide seamless shopping experiences for users without needing to leave the Roblox platform.

Shopify stated in a press release, “Commerce happens everywhere—from physical stores to online, to immersive spaces. One of the most relevant places for digitally-savvy Gen Z consumers in the world right now is Roblox, where millions of creators pursue entrepreneurship through immersive content creation. Now, we’re unlocking a new channel for their ventures.”

The integration will allow Shopify sellers to offer physical items like clothing and accessories to Roblox’s vast audience. Roblox has already experimented with brand collaborations, including e.l.f. Cosmetics, Fandango, Warner Bros., and Walmart, where players 13+ years can discover and order products within the game environment.

Roblox’s e-commerce ambitions are part of a broader strategy to capture 10% of global gaming content revenue. The platform expects 20% of its projected 300 million daily active users to engage in non-gaming activities like shopping and entertainment. Roblox will soon introduce a price optimization tool for creators to help them set prices tailored to different regions.

KFC Teams Up with Funko Fusion Game for Reward Program Members

KFC has partnered with Funko, Inc., Universal Products & Experiences, and 10:10 Games to bring the iconic Colonel Sanders to life in the action-adventure game Funko Fusion. The single-player game features Colonel Sanders as a playable character, with the iconic KFC founder in his classic white suit and alternate outfits like “Chef Colonel Sanders.” The character is available exclusively to KFC Rewards members. The brand introduced its rewards program earlier this year, and the collaboration is a move by KFC to boost membership by tapping into the gaming community. The fried chicken chain connected with the community last year when it offered exclusive rewards in the Diablo IV video game.

Players of Funko Fusion can explore worlds inspired by popular films such as Jurassic World, Jaws, Back to the Future, The Thing, Battlestar Galactica, and Five Nights at Freddy’s. In addition to redeeming other outfits for Colonel Sanders, KFC Rewards members can redeem 250 points to unlock the “Mecha Colonel” outfit.

With the global gaming market projected to reach $321 billion by 2026, KFC is positioning itself to engage younger demographics, particularly Gen Z, who represent a significant portion of the gaming industry’s consumer base. Funko Fusion is now available on PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, and Xbox Series X|S, with upcoming releases for other platforms later this year and early 2025.
