H&R Block Builds Brand Awareness through Unique Customer Engagement Campaign

H&R Block Customer EngagementH&R Block wants to expand its brand awareness through a unique customer engagement campaign.

With tax season in full swing, H&R Block officials want to bring smiles to people around the country through the H&R Block 1000 Win $1000 Daily Sweepstakes, powered by HelloWorld.

What is this campaign? Well, 1,000 people will each win $1,000 for every day the campaign runs. Translation? H&R Block is awarding $1 million a day.

The first drawing took place Jan. 16 with the final drawing set for Feb 19. Anyone who files their taxes in a participating H&R Block office can be entered into the sweepstakes. And while entries are pouring in, the social component of the campaign offers consumers a chance to share their excitement with #mygrandplan, and some will be featured on the H&R Block site.

Steve Burke, Vice President Retail Marketing at H&R Block, told Loyalty360 that this campaign is truly unique.

“What we’re doing is unprecedented,” Burke said. “This is huge. No other tax company has ever awarded this much money in prizes before. In fact, in the promotions industry, this is one of the largest guaranteed cash giveaways ever done. H&R Block has a global awareness.

“In giving away this much cash, it gives people a reason to talk about it and spread the news,” Burke explained. “Also, we know stolen identity tax refund fraud is a growing concern and likely could get worse this coming tax season. One way we’re helping people protect their refund is by getting them to file through early with our 1,000 Win $1,000 Daily Sweepstakes. The primary customer experience is to visit a local H&R Block, get your taxes completed, and get an entry toward the giveaway. People can access contest details and winners’ stories and people’s plans for what they’ll do if they win $1,000 from H&R Block at www.hrblock.com/grand.”

Burke added that people can follow H&R Block on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook for regular
updates and engagement.

“We encourage everyone to share what they would do with an extra grand in their hand by using the hashtag #MyGrandPlan,” he said. “H&R Block will use social media to raise awareness of the sweepstakes and celebrate winners. H&R Block offices nationwide are prepared to celebrate daily winners with check presentations and stories of what people plan to do if they win $1,000 from Block are being shared at hrblock.com/grand.”
