The program was officially launched with a Wellness Fair on Monday June 22 which encouraged employees to learn more about the program and its associated benefits. This event included representation from local service providers that coincided with the sevens designated disciplines of All Star’s Wellness Program including healthy eating, weight loss, exercise activity, tobacco cessation, financial health, disease management and social responsibility. The Southbridge YMCA, American Red Cross, American Heart Association, Hometown Bank, SIMs Fitness, Colonial Life Insurance, UBS Financial and several others were in attendance to provide helpful tips and information to All Star employees. The event also included a healthy cooking demonstration from All Star’s very own Gail White owner and operator along with husband Craig of “You’ve Got Lunch!” Catering Company based in the Tri-Community area.
To date over 55% of the All Star employees have pledged their commitment to the All Star Wellness Program. During enrollment, employees were asked to document their wellness goals, challenges, and level of engagement. In addition baseline stats (weight, blood pressure, cholesterol screening) were established. Wellness program members are also encouraged to take an active position on any one of the task teams that coincide with the sevens designated disciplines of the program.
