Chosen for the eighth time in study’s 11-year history; best ranking (17th) since 2002
TORONTO, ONTARIO—(Marketwire - Jan. 7, 2010) - Being recognized as an employer of choice doesn’t get old for McDonald’s Canada, it simply gets better.
For the eighth time in the study’s 11-year history, McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Limited has been chosen as one of Canada’s 50 Best Employers - the only quick-service restaurant in the country to earn this honour.
Compiled by Hewitt Associates in partnership with the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business magazine and La Presse newspaper, this national ranking is unlike other workplace studies currently published in the marketplace because it is employees - based on a comprehensive opinion questionnaire - who decide whether an organization belongs on the Best Employers list.
“At McDonald’s Canada, connecting with our customers is our primary focus and we see our employees as the first group of customers we have to delight and surprise for us to be a successful company,” said John Betts, President of McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Limited. “Providing opportunities, nurturing talent and rewarding achievement is an integral part of our culture and I’m thrilled to see our people embrace those values so wholeheartedly.”
Each year, McDonald’s Canada conducts internal employee surveys to get feedback on how well the company is doing. In its most recent survey, 87% of respondents strongly agreed that “I would, without hesitation, recommend this organization to a friend seeking employment.”
