Because it always aims to increase customer value, Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) this month launched a new customer loyalty program for owner-operators and small fleets called Truck Bucks.

Truck Bucks will be aimed at rewarding customers with parts and service specials at Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit, and Thomas Built Buses service locations.

Customers enrolled in Truck Bucks will receive discounts and special product incentives. Specials will include discounts on select parts and services designed to introduce customers to the full breadth of DTNA’s aftermarket offerings. This program is designed to be customer-friendly with discounts applied at check-out without the need for coupons or further action by the customer.

Todd Biggs, director, aftermarket parts and service marketing for Daimler Trucks North America, told Loyalty360 that Daimler Trucks North America has always focused on creating customer value through its product and service offerings, providing customers with the lowest total cost of ownership and best performance in the market.

“That has been the best loyalty program we could have designed, but we wanted to reward our loyal customer base and Truck Bucks does just that,” Biggs said. “The Truck Bucks program allows us to share special offers on parts and services that customers need most.”

DTNA’s Truck Bucks reward program was announced earlier this month and will be rolled out over the next couple of months as customers are enrolled, Biggs said.

“We wanted to communicate as early as possible to customers that a new savings opportunity will be available through the DTNA network,” he explained. “That’s why we’ve encouraged customers to sign up to receive alerts about the program when discounts are available. We believe this program will be yet another tool for our customers to maintain the lowest total cost of ownership for their trucks.”

Biggs said the Truck Bucks rewards program is designed to be as simple to use as possible.

“There are no coupons needed,” he explained. “Customers just present their card to receive the current discount. Discounts will vary on specific parts and services. Some promotions will run only a few days (while supplies last) while other promotions may be a week or even a month long.”

Biggs said the DTNA dealer network has continuously raised the bar with service-related programs like Elite Support – improving the customer experience through the integration technology and operational changes that affect everything from the truck purchase to aftermarket parts and service activities.

“Truck Bucks adds another layer to that effort, rewarding our best customers, building trust, and delivering on our promise to put the customer first,” he said. “The aftermarket side to commercial transportation is often overly price-focused with little recognition of the real value that better service or faster access to parts can provide. Truck Bucks is a simple program with incentives directly aligned to the value that DTNA’s powerful dealer and distribution network provide: truck parts and service second to none. The real loyalty from our customers is earned through hard work and paying attention to quality and detail. We think that all of our customers deserve that kind of experience.”

DTNA is always looking for ways to better serve its customers and the Truck Bucks rewards program is no exception, Biggs said.

“Following the initial launch, we will monitor the program and gauge customer satisfaction levels,” he explained. “In the coming months and years, we will continue to seek ways to further enhance the program and decrease the total cost of ownership for our customers even more.”
