Church

Church's Chicken has announced multiple innovations the brand is taking that will all be implemented at its headquarters in Atlanta, GA.

"Our people are our most valuable asset at Church's," explained Karen Viera, Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer for Church's about the new approach in a Church's press release. "The tremendous gains of the past few years would have been impossible without our teams working at every level to make this brand one of the leaders in the industry. The needs of workers aren't the same as they were 20 years ago, or even two years ago. We don't have to limit ourselves with that kind of thinking. We absolutely can give employees more of what they want while still meeting and exceeding company goals. The technology and resources are there – and so is the personal commitment to make this new era work well for everyone."

There are four steps the brand has outlined that it is enacting, which include:

  • People First. Safety Always.
    • The brand adopted safety measures quickly, with protocols like social distancing, limiting the number of people that can be in the office at one time, advanced cleaning and sanitation precautions, and remote-office placement for those with vulnerable health status recognized by the CDC
  • Unified Building Strategy
    • The brand has announced it has combined its two offices, its test kitchen, and its research and development team, into a single building for more frequent exchange relationships
  • Expansion of Remote Office Model
    • Church's will be observing a new remote schedule, with some going 100 percent remote and others working remotely up to three days a week
  • Maximizing How and Where Work Takes Place
    • Church's has added a Business Health and Safety Guidelines required course to its learning management system, which encourages safety as a responsibility for all team members

"We said 2020 was going to be the year that Church's Stakes Its Claim to be a leader in our category, in our industry, and in business in general," Joe Christina, the company's CEO agreed, in the same Church's news release. "None of that happens without engaging employees in that journey. We've often said our aim is to be Global Franchisor of Choice, but we also hold an equally strong drive to be the Global Employer of Choice. I applaud the work of Ms. Viera, Beyond CorpComm, and all of the employees who have made – and will make – this transformation possible."
