A recent Microsoft-sponsored survey found that mobile applications make personal financial management tools more relevant to customers’ daily lives. When asked how important or unimportant it is that your personal financial management tools have mobile apps 34% of mobile-oriented users said “very important.” Firms are responding according to a First Annapolis Consulting Inc. report,  released earlier this year. The report found 39% of financial institutions offered access to banking services through a mobile device’s Web browser and 32% did so through text messages and alerts.  Beyond providing information services, increasing numbers of mobile systems support fund transfers and other payment capabilities, the report said.
