Backbase, the mobile and customer experience platform specialist, has announced today that they plan to aggressively grow their operations in the United Kingdom. Backbase, which was recently named as a visionary portal software vendor in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant analyst rankings, aims to expand their footprint through strategically focused UK recruitment and sales campaigns over the next two quarters.
The vendor's recent customer win, with the insurer Hiscox, is now one of its premium customers in the UK and Backbase is now seeking more such wins.
Backbase’s existing UK offices are located in the heart of London’s financial district, the City. The company will begin an aggressive hiring campaign to find the right candidates to represent their innovative product in the UK this month. Currently Backbase employs 150 senior technology and usability experts in their Amsterdam, New York, and Singapore offices. Their UK expansion will create at least a dozen positions for the vendor to fill across several departments, including sales, R&D, and expert services.
“We’re very pleased to be able to focus on this exciting market. London, and the UK, present a vast amount of potential for growth,” said Jouk Pleiter, Backbase’s chief executive officer (CEO). “We have seen a dramatic upswing in the need for financial institutions and enterprises to meet the needs of their customers’ online and provide outstanding digital and mobile experiences. There is a definite sense of urgency for organisations to deliver, and this is reflected by a significant increase in demand since we rolled out our first projects in the region, which is an opportunity we are more than prepared to explore to the fullest.”
“I am incredibly excited to be able to present Backbase Portal to the UK market,” said Greg Kelton, Vice President of Sales, UK. “Backbase Portal, with its Bank 2.0 solutions that are uniquely tailored to meet the rapidly changing needs of retail, commercial, and corporate banking clients, is a definite game changer. I’m looking forward to growing the team here and getting this highly innovative customer experience platform out into the UK market.”
