Jetblue Customer ExperienceThe need for a seamless customer experience continues to grow, and POS (point-of-sale) technologies are a major factor in crafting quick and easy customer interactions. Included in these technologies is MasterPass, a mobile wallet program from MasterCard that stores credit card data allows users to shop online or in participating stores with the click of a button.

In its most recent merchant partnership, MasterPass is coming to popular airline JetBlue later this year. The partnership is a logical move for both companies, as MasterCard was named as network partner for JetBlue’s co-brand portfolio in October of last year.

The financial services giant says that the collaboration was born out of a drive to ease the process of booking a trip.

“Planning a getaway with JetBlue is exciting and something to look forward to,” said Michael Cyr, group executive with MasterCard’s U.S. Market Development department. “With your payment credentials securely stored in MasterPass, the toughest thing you’ll have to do is decide where you want JetBlue to take you.”

The MasterPass integration will be rolled out later this year, and will allow customers to utilize the technology both on JetBlue’s website and mobile app. As mobile Jetblue Customer Experienceshopping continues to grow, customers are looking for ways to easily engage with the platform while enjoying a frictionless purchasing experience.

Amazon’s “1-click” shopping is at the center of the mobile wallet discussion, and technologies like MasterPass have been developed in response to the expectation of customers for companies to offer similarly easy purchasing options.

“We are always looking for new ways to offer customers a great experience at every step in their travel and that starts with booking your flight,” said Mike Stromer, JetBlue’s VP of digital loyalty and customer insights. “MasterPass adds a fast and simple way to complete a booking, and we look forward to adding it into our mobile app and online experience later this year.”

MasterPass continues to gain momentum as a mobile wallet technology. The program is now offered in 29 countries, and has grown to include 250,000 merchants since launching in 2013.
