YOUNG AMERICA, Minn.—Young America, an engagement marketing, loyalty and incentive firm, announced that Joe Custer, the company’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, has accepted the role of President. He replaces Mark Shipley, who accepted a challenging leadership position at a national Fortune 500 retailer.
Custer maintains his former role as CFO and has handed over his title of COO to Paul Hanson, the company’s Chief Information Officer. Hanson will maintain full leadership responsibilities over IT and operations.
As CFO and COO, Custer helped lead Young America to record growth levels and will continue to focus on the company’s expansion into the engagement marketing, loyalty and incentives business.
Custer has over 15 years of experience spanning the services, software, and manufacturing sectors. Prior to joining Young America, he led Business Development, IT, and Finance for Cooper Notification, a division of Cooper Industries, and held a variety of finance, marketing, and business development roles with Stanley Security Solutions, a division of The Stanley Works. Custer earned his BS in Accounting from Indiana University.
