HanesBrands Marks 15 Years of Donating to Hanes for Good, Providing Apparel to Unhoused
HanesBrands Inc. recently marked and celebrated the 15th anniversary of its Hanes for Good program. Since its inception in 2009, Hanes for Good has provided more than six million essential apparel items to hundreds of organizations across the United States, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and Guam. The initiative, which started in response to a critical need for socks in homeless shelters, has grown into a national effort to offer comfort and dignity to people facing homelessness, providing essential items like t-shirts, sweats, socks, and underwear, which were added this year. Hanes for Good has set a goal of positively impacting 10 million people by 2030.
Hanes Brand Marketing Manager Kelsey Leetzow said, “As we mark 15 years of Hanes for Good, we are reminded that small gestures—like a new pair of socks or a fresh t-shirt—can have a big impact. Our mission remains the same: to bring a little comfort to those who need it most. Thanks to our partners and the community, we're able to support thousands across the U.S. every year, making a meaningful difference in their lives.”
In addition to ongoing donations, Hanes for Good recently supported disaster relief efforts, sending more than 20,000 pieces of apparel to communities affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024. The program also contributed 9,000 pairs of women’s period underwear to 24 partner locations in honor of Period Action Day. Notably, Hanes played a role in setting a Guinness World Record in 2021 by donating 21,500 socks for the world’s longest sock line.

Skechers Reaches $12 Million Milestone in Supporting Shelter Pets
Skechers announced that its BOBS® from Skechers® collection has raised a total of $12 million in charitable donations since its launch in 2015. Through the sales of BOBS products, Skechers has provided significant support to shelter pets across the United States, U.K., Canada, and Japan. The donations have played a crucial role in saving and supporting more than 2.2 million animals in shelters, illustrating the company’s long-standing commitment to animal welfare.
Skechers President Michael Greenberg stated, “Like so many of the animals we’ve helped save, our BOBS from Skechers journey has taken us to surprising, emotional, and joyous places these past nine years. We’ve really grown a movement across North America. Through our partnership with Petco Love and its 4,000-strong animal welfare organization network, we have provided much-needed grants to shelters that save dogs and cats, offered disaster relief in times of crisis, eased overcrowded shelters to give more animals a chance at survival, and given people the unconditional love of a furry friend. It’s even changed our employees as a company of pet lovers—inspiring us to organize adoption events at our stores and start our Paws for a Cause Design Scholarship, which gives consumers a chance to wear talented students’ shoe patterns and recognizes their deeply personal shelter pet stories.”
Skechers has also expanded its mission globally through partnerships with organizations such as Woodgreen Pets Charity in the U.K. and ALMA in Japan. The company has also hosted several high-profile adoption events to raise awareness for shelter pets, including the televised Stanley Pup, Pawlympics in Los Angeles, and Paws in the Park in New York. The footwear and apparel brand has also partnered with Watching New York to encourage pet adoption.
