Fairmont Invites the World to “Make Special Happen” in New Campaign
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has unveiled its new global brand campaign, Fairmont Presents “Make Special Happen”, celebrating the brand’s legacy of grandeur, celebration, and cinematic elegance. Paying tribute to its century-old tradition of hosting historic events and iconic guests, the campaign sets a nostalgic yet modern tone. Created by King & Partners and directed by Jean Claude Thibaut, the campaign film was shot at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto and stylistically channels the charm of vintage cinema, blending the glamour of the past with today’s elevated guest experience. Drawing inspiration from legendary events such as the signing of the UN Charter and John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s “Bed in for Peace,” the campaign reaffirms Fairmont’s heritage as a timeless host of life’s most meaningful moments.
Fairmont Raffles CEO Omer Acar said, “Make Special Happen isn’t just a campaign, it’s part of our brand DNA and is the sentiment we make our guests feel. Fairmont hotels are social epicenters that blend genuine encounters with the heart of the action, creating vibrant spaces where communities gather. Occasions are celebrated, milestones are marked, and history is made every day at our 92 properties in 30 countries globally. Bringing to life our first new global brand campaign in many years marks another special, history-making moment. ‘Make Special Happen’ reaffirms Fairmont’s core identity and what sets it apart in a way that reaches a new and discerning audience.”
The heart of the campaign lies in storytelling, featuring a charismatic ensemble of characters, from a gracious hostess dubbed “The Celebrationist” to a cast of modern Fairmont guests each representing diverse lifestyles and passions. The narrative builds toward a magical celebration, showcasing how Fairmont staff and guests together create unforgettable experiences. The campaign climaxes with a surprise appearance by Tom Wolfe, America’s first concierge, reminding audiences that at Fairmont, every detail and gesture becomes part of something extraordinary. To complement the campaign, Fairmont has introduced Special Happens, a curated collection of experiential offerings available at its 92 properties worldwide. These experiences go beyond traditional luxury, immersing guests in locally inspired, bespoke moments, whether it’s stargazing during an after-hours spa session, foraging with local chefs, or an afternoon tea in a rainforest. With additional experiences rolling out through 2025, Fairmont continues its mission to transform hospitality into something extraordinary, everywhere and every day.
