Market research firm Forrester has recognized top companies in data management in its latest report, “The Forrester Wave: Master Data Management, Q1 2016,” which showcases organizations that have demonstrated excellence in data management and analysis. Among the top performers were Spectrum Technology from Pitney Bowes and the new ALLOY platform from Liaison.
Pitney Bowes’ Spectrum Technology Platform was named a “Leader” in the report due to its data governance and business value. The technology earned max scores in profiling, data quality, content sharing, and partner strategy, among others criteria.
“Unique is the ability to incorporate business context into the domain, such as customer segmentation, simply by adding a filter or rule within a graph node,” Michele Goetz, principal analyst at Forrester, said in the report. “This model’s flexibility and ease of implementation allows Spectrum MDM customers to implement more quickly and achieve time-to-value in three to four months.”
Also recognized within the report was ALLOY, a platform from Liaison Technologies that was named a “Strong Performer” in the report. ALLOY’s top marks came in big data, cloud, and product strategy.
“Liaison Technologies has an ambitious and visionary strategy to evolve its cloud data integration platform to a data management and analytic platform,” the report said about ALLOY. “To do so, Liaison introduced the ALLOY platform, based on a big data infrastructure of MapR and graph. ALLOY delivers MDM through managed services, leveraging graph to define and orchestrate complex contextual master data models across a wide variety of structured, semi-structured, and content sources.”
Liaison was founded in 2000, and has expanded its reach to include 7,000 customers across 46 countries.

The report recognized 12 significant vendors in the market, and uses numerous criteria to score data solutions based on effectiveness, ease of use, and value.
