Carvana Launches a New Car Vending Machine for Memorable Customer Experiences

Many industries, in their efforts to adapt to the growth of e-commerce, have seen the rise of memorable purchasing experiences. Carvana, an e-commerce site that offers delivery and pick-up from auto “vending machines,” is notable in its ability to create experiences that its consumers will not soon forget.

Now, Carvana is at it again with a big installation. The company has unveiled its newest vending machine in Oklahoma City. The eye-catching, all-glass tower stands eight stories high and holds 27 vehicles, creating a unique and memorable experience for customers who purchase a vehicle on Carvana.com and choose to pick it up at the machine.

In as little as 10 minutes, customers can shop more than 15,000 vehicles on Carvana.com, finance and purchase one, and then schedule as-soon-as-next-day delivery or pickup. Customers that choose vending machine pick-up select a day and time convenient for them and are greeted by a customer advocate upon arrival. Then they receive a commemorative, oversized Carvana coin to activate the vending process. The pick-up process takes only minutes, compared to hours at the dealership.

Every Carvana vehicle comes with a seven-day return policy, giving customers the time and peace of mind to ensure the vehicle fits their lives. Additionally, every Carvana vehicle has undergone a rigorous 150-point inspection, has no frame damage, and has never been in a reported accident. Features, imperfections, and updated information about open safety recalls are listed on the car’s vehicle description page.

“We’ve been offering The New Way to Buy a Car in Oklahoma for about two years, and in that short time, area residents have shown enthusiasm for our easy, transparent online car buying experience,” says Ernie Garcia, Founder and CEO of Carvana. “We’re looking forward to adding our car vending machine to the Oklahoma City skyline while making car buying fun again.”

Overall, this is a very exciting development. It will be interesting to see if younger consumers maintain interest in haggling at dealerships when alternatives like this are becoming more common.
