Razer Redesigns Its Loyalty Programs and Offers Improved Customer Experience

US-based gaming hardware manufacturer Razer has announced a redesign of its native digital currencies and loyalty system. The redesign includes changes to the company’s Razer zSilver and Razer zGold virtual rewards and credits system, both of which were launched in 2017 and which have gained over 5 million registered users. The two programs will be rebranded Razer Silver and Razer Gold.

Razer Silver gamers will be tipped with program currency for every Razer Gold they spend. This means that the more Gold gamers spend, the more Silver they earn. Gamers can also exchange the Silver currency for vouchers, discounts, and products.

In addition, the Razer Gold tier includes a host of updates. One dollar of a gamer’s local currency is now equivalent to one Razer Gold, so gamers can purchase games and bonus content in the currency most familiar to them. Members also receive exclusive in-game conversion rates that stretch their currency. For example, spending $0.99 in PUBG MOBILE through Google Play nets gamers only 60 Unknown Cash. On the other hand, by spending $0.99 of Razer Gold, gamers bag 74 Unknown Cash—a value increase of 23 percent. Razer Gold members will also receive exclusive in-game loot items for using the program. Past and ongoing campaigns include a Razer-themed parachute for Razer Gold spenders in PUBG MOBILE, and a brand-new Razer Hex decal in War Thunder.

To upgrade to either the Razer Gold or Silver wallet, gamers have to log in to their existing accounts and follow the guided upgrade steps, or sign up if they don’t already have an account. Upon doing so, 500 Razer Silver will be credited instantly into their accounts to kickstart their rewards journey. Gamers who complete their Razer ID profiles will earn another 500 Razer Silver. Gamers can continue to rack up their Razer Silver stash by spending Razer Gold and participating in lucky draws that give away up to 50,000 Razer Silver.

In addition, Razer is bringing back its paid-to-play program Razer Cortex, which is available on both mobile and PC, to stimulate earning. This program enables gamers to earn currency by playing games. Razer Cortex is now available for all smartphones, which means gamers can earn currency both on the go and at home.

The gaming firm is also launching a desktop application called Razer SoftMiner. The app uses the idle graphics processing unit power of user’s devices to resolve blockchain-related puzzles on the back-end. Once gamers install and launch the app, they will receive Silver currency based on the amount of time they spend on the app and on the processing power of their systems. As of now, the Razer SoftMiner is in beta testing stage.
