Publix certainly walks the customer experience walk.
On its company website, Publix offers the following message aimed at always delivering exemplary customer service: “Publix aims to be a great employer. We hire associates who have a servant’s heart. We strive to build positive relationships with our customers and neighbors in our communities. We value giving back because we believe it’s our responsibility and our privilege. We are company owners.”
In honor of its ongoing deep commitment to its customers, Publix Pharmacy earned the No. 1 ranking in the 2014 U.S. Pharmacy Study. For the fifth consecutive year, Publix Pharmacy was the highest-ranking pharmacy in overall satisfaction in the supermarket segment, according to the J.D. Power & Associate Satisfaction Survey, a customer satisfaction benchmark study that provides pharmacy-specific performance comparisons among brick and mortar pharmacies.
The 2014 U.S. Pharmacy Study was based on responses from 13,951 pharmacy customers who filled a new prescription or refilled a prescription during the three months prior to the survey period, July-Aug. The survey measured prescription ordering, store performance, non-pharmacist staff, cost competitiveness and store pharmacist. Publix Pharmacy ranked number one in three of the five categories.
“Being recognized by our pharmacy customers in this manner validates our focus on the customer experience within our stores,” Maria Brous, Publix director of media and community relations, said in a release. “We are committed to exceeding our customers’ expectations and helping them achieve their health and wellness goals. We are proud of our pharmacy staff for delivering on this commitment each and every day.”
What’s more, the study noted that Publix outperforms or performs on par with supermarket segments on 11 of 12 key performance indicators, and compared to supermarket pharmacies, Publix customers are more likely to return, likely to recommend, and feel most loyal to the Publix Pharmacy.
Publix is privately owned and operated by its 173,500 employees, with 2013 sales of $28.9 billion. Currently Publix has 1,094 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina.
