Hilton Worldwide announced important changes to its HHonors guest loyalty program. Scott Carman, Director of Communications, Customer Marketing, for Hilton Worldwide, outlined the three changes to the Hilton HHonors guest loyalty program.
The three changes to Hilton HHonors include:
5th Free Night Benefit:
Starting March 28, 2013, the discount on Standard Room Reward stays will change. Silver, Gold and Diamond elite members will receive every 5th night free on Standard Room Reward stays booked for five consecutive nights or more.
Seasonal Pricing:
For most of Hilton hotels and resorts, seasonal pricing for reward stays will be introduced. The amount of points needed for a Standard Room Reward and a Points & Money Reward will vary during certain times of the year.
With Hilton’s new Seasonal Pricing, “our guests can take advantage of off-peak travel to enjoy lower pricing, affording opportunities for travelers to take advantage of lower pricing and visit a location that they may have otherwise been unable to visit,” Carman told Loyalty 360.
Reward Categories:
Reward categories are used to designate the number of HHonors points needed to redeem a standard room. As of March 28, 2013, Hilton Worldwide will increase the number of hotel reward categories from seven to 10 to account for all of the new hotels and resorts that have opened in the past few years. This increase in the number of reward categories is comparable to other loyalty programs across the industry.
Carman said Hilton Worldwide implemented these changes to the HHonors guest loyalty program because “we are constantly looking for ways to bring value and opportunities to our guests. We do this through promotions, partnerships and alliances, and new ways to earn and redeem HHonors points.”
Carman said Hilton Worldwide makes periodic adjustments as part of ongoing management of the program.
“In recent years, the HHonors program has experienced tremendous growth with the addition of hundreds of new hotels and resorts around the world,” Carman said. “To adapt to this growth, we have made some changes that take effect March 28, 2013. What will not change are all of the other, highly-valued benefits of HHonors membership including room upgrades, high-speed internet, on-property and the ability to redeem points for merchandise in the HHonors Global Shopping Mall.”
