As Veterans Day approaches, millions of Americans will be thanking and honoring members of the armed forces for their valuable contributions and valiant efforts. It is a time of reflection and recognition, and Days Inn is commemorating the holiday by once again celebrating with “Honor A Hero,” which will also work alongside the brand’s loyalty program.
The return of the popular “Honor A Hero” contest is not only a way to reward those who serve our country, it also encourages everyone to participate in a meaningful customer experience that will share and promote the stories of those they wish to honor.
The concept is simple. Days Inn is inviting the friends and family members of armed service members to submit a photo of their personal hero and explain why they deserve the experience of a lifetime. Each submitted story has the chance of winning veterans or those currently serving a vacation getaway. During the entire week of the contest, both veterans and active service members will be chosen daily to receive a $1,000 hotel gift card along with a weeklong stay at any North American Days Inn hotel of their choice.
What’s more, “Honor A Hero” also presents a wonderful customer engagement opportunity for guests that wish to support Hotels for Heroes, which is a program operated by the Fisher House Foundation. During this year’s “Honor A Hero,” Days Inn will donate 10 Wyndham rewards points for every customer that books a room through DaysInn.com.
This could potentially see the foundation receive up to one million Wyndham points to support Hotels for Heroes, which provides hotel rooms to families visiting armed service members who are receiving treatment at certain medical centers.
“Over a million men and women serve in the U.S. military, while millions more are counted among our nation’s veterans,” said Patrick Breen, Days Inn Senior VP. “As Veterans Day approaches, we hope that our efforts will serve as reminder—both to those who've worn the uniform before, as well as though who still do—that they will always have our sincerest thanks and strongest support, not just today, but every day."
“Honor a Hero” will run through Nov. 11.
