Subway Partners with Postmates to Feed Healthcare Professionals

Subway has announced a partnership with Postmates to, in honor of National Nurses Week, help healthcare professionals. For every order made through Postmates of $15 or more, Subway is donating six-inch subs. The donated subs will be delivered by Postmates with its non-profit partner Feed Hero Nurses, which is run in partnership with Random Acts. This donation campaign runs all week, until Sunday, May 10.

“We’re proud to partner with Postmates during these unprecedented times,” said John Chidsey, Chief Executive Officer at Subway in a press release. “We want to show our gratitude to the men and women working tirelessly on the frontlines to keep our communities safe, and with this program, we’re able to do that by providing thousands of meals to keep them fueled during those long hours.”

Postmates is working with the partners mentioned above to deliver these subs for lunch and dinner to hospitals and medical centers in communities in need. Some of the areas mentioned in the press release include Detroit, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Southern California, and Southern Florida.

“At Postmates, we pride ourselves on giving back to the communities we serve,” said Eric Edge, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Postmates in the same press release as above. “With Subway and Feed Hero Nurses, we’re honored to be able to support thousands of the amazing hospital workers in areas most affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.”

To take part in this movement, customers need to visit Postmates’ website or download its app, which is available on Android or iOS, and then place an order. Recently, to help better serve customers and protect employees during the COVID-19 outbreak, Postmates has launched options for contactless delivery, similar to other delivery services.

“Feed Hero Nurses is extremely grateful for this partnership with Subway and Postmates,” said Michael Bleau, Project Founder of Feed Hero Nurses, also in the news release. “Through this program, we’re able to deliver tens of thousands of delicious meals to overnight shift nurses in COVID-19 units throughout the country, at a time when support is needed, and nutritious meal options are limited.”
