Starbucks has recently revamped its Starbucks Rewards loyalty program in the U.S., set to launch on March 10, 2026. The redesign introduces a new tiered structure with three membership levels, Green, Gold, and Reserve, each offering new benefits and faster ways to earn Stars as members engage more with the brand. The changes are built on feedback from the company’s 35.5 million active U.S. members.

Rather than tying star earning strictly to payment type as in the past, Starbucks’ new system lets members accelerate their Star accumulation based on overall activity, rewarding increased engagement with enhanced perks and earning rates. Across all tiers, members will continue to earn Stars on purchases redeemable for free beverages, food, and merchandise, but now with new redemption options and premium experiences for higher-value engagement.

Each tier delivers distinct benefits: Green members keep core perks like birthday rewards, personalized offers, and a new Free Mod Mondays monthly benefit; Gold members earn Stars faster and enjoy non-expiring Stars along with bonus earning events; and Reserve members gain access to exclusive merchandise, premium experiences, and the most accelerated Star earnings. Starbucks has also introduced a new 60-Star redemption level that offers a $2 discount on purchases.

Members’ existing Stars and activity through 2025 will determine their starting tier when the program goes live, and progress toward higher tiers can be tracked via the Starbucks app or online account.
