Starbucks recently announced the launch of Starbucks® Rewards for its Costa Rican customers. The program began earlier this month and offers Costa Rican customers the opportunity to earn one Star (point) with every 550 colones spent at any Starbucks location in the country. The Stars can be redeemed for free beverages and the initiative is part of the coffee chain’s ongoing efforts to enhance the digital customer experience, both in Costa Rica and across the region.
The Starbucks® Rewards program features two levels: Green and Gold. Green level members can earn a free beverage for every 150 Stars, enjoy a complimentary birthday drink, and receive a free Americano coffee when purchasing a whole-bean coffee, among other benefits. Once members accumulate 200 Stars, they’re upgraded to the Gold level, which offers all Green level benefits plus exclusive perks like a free second bean option, complimentary refills of Starbucks® coffee, and double Stars on transactions when using a pre-paid Starbucks Card.
Alongside the rewards program, the Starbucks® Costa Rica app is available for download on both iOS and Android and allows users to place mobile orders in advance and customize their drinks. This feature is available in other markets globally and gives Costa Rican customers the same seamless and personalized experience enjoyed by Starbucks fans across the globe.
Starbucks Costa Rica Chief of Marketing Maria José Gutiérrez said, “The launch of Starbucks Rewards is a milestone in our market, as it will allow us to connect even more with our customers by personalizing their experience in an accessible and quick way, leveraging digital innovation to enhance convenience and engagement.”
To join Starbucks® Rewards, just download the Starbucks® Costa Rica app, register, and begin earning Stars by purchasing either in-store or via the app.
